What can we teach children about wildlife?
For the past seven years, the Wild Shaale program has brought the magic of India’s wildlife to over 55,000 children, in over 1400 schools across 5 states. These children grow up alongside some of our most iconic species, yet many have never learned about them in depth or understood their role in our shared ecosystems.
Wild Shaale is different from most environmental education programs. Informed by transformative learning theory, our experiential curriculum blends games, role play, multimedia, art, and storytelling to help children develop knowledge, curiosity, and empathy for the natural world.
This year, from Independence Day to Teachers’ Day, we are partnering with Pratham Books to bring wildlife stories into the classrooms of children living near forests.
Together, we aim to place packs of 15 beautifully illustrated storybooks, in regional languages and for all reading levels, into the hands of 20,000+ students across 5 states.
These books are engaging, accessible, and designed to spark a lifelong love for nature and learning.
Your support can make this possible! ₹5,500 will support books for 1 school.
With your help, we aim to give thousands of children access to stories that connect them to their natural heritage.
