ABOUT THE ROLE
This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the Media & Outreach Team at CWS. Cutting across programs, this role allowing interns to gain hands-on experience in content creation, design, writing and digital engagement. Interns will work closely with designers and coordinators, contributing to impactful storytelling and outreach initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborate with the team to create and curate engaging social media content.

3. Support in gathering stories, visuals, videos and updates across programs to highlight our work and impact.
4. Assist with data management and the organization of archival work to maintain accurate and accessible records.
REQUIRED SKILLS

2. Proficiency in using design tools like Canva for creating engaging visuals and collateral materials.
3. Excellent command of the English language, with writing experience highly valued.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This position involves implementing CWS’ environmental education program Wild Shaale in Karnataka. This will include delivering educational sessions for the in-person and digital program in government and private schools, evaluation of the program as well as data collection and management. The educator will have to work closely with the project coordinator and program manager for session delivery and smooth execution of the program. He/she will be required to work from any part of Karnataka during program implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Excellent Kannada and English communication skills.
2. Travel within India as and when required, especially to remote locations in the field.
3. Four-wheel driving license is preferred.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS) is seeking applications for a GIS/RS research fellow position to support a critical research project titled: Development of early warning system using AI/ML to predict forest fire occurrences in the Eastern Ghats of India. This role will encompass extensive development of AI/ML models to predict wildfire occurrences in the Eastern Ghats and in the Kaval Tiger Reserve landscape. Knowledge of forest fires datasets, delineation of burned areas, development of predictive models, and refinement of models are prerequisites. Competence in the use of GIS/RS softwares, such as GEE, and related softwares will be an advantage. Other responsibilities include data entry, data management, report writing, and other administrative tasks at our field stations or office in Bangalore.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Identify various satellite datasets and algorithms for detecting forest fires..
2. Prepare the AI/ML models to predict wildfires.
3. Travel to field sites and assess the performance of AI/ML models
4. Develop API to host models through Power BI and train forest department staff to use the same.
5. Assist in writing manuscripts, articles, and reports.
6. Create outreach and communication materials as required.
7. Support various project administration tasks, including but not limited to coordinating research team meetings, meticulous account keeping, grant reporting, and supervising field assistants.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. A postgraduate degree in life sciences/engineering or related disciplines (e.g., environmental sciences, geography, geoinformatics), with significant experience in AI/ML.
2. Significant experience in conducting GIS/RS projects.
3. Experience in developing models, choice of models, identification of robust models and variables, testing and training, measures of accuracy.
4. Experience with handling accounts and grant reports.
5. Proficiency in spoken and written Telugu and English.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Fundraising Manager is a key role in helping the Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS) to grow the scale and impact of our programs. The position engages with CWS staff to develop grant proposals, build CSR networks, and develop new fundraising opportunities. The role requires constant interactions and collaboration with all teams at CWS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support: Assist the Chief Executive Officer and senior team with outreach and funding tasks.
2. Proposal Development: Write and refine proposals for CWS programs, coordinating with staff and management.
3. Database Management: Maintain accurate records of submissions, projects, and donor information with the accounts team.
4. Opportunity Identification: Find and engage new donors and funding opportunities.
5. Platform Management: Oversee crowdfunding platforms like Give India and manage donor management systems such as Salesforce NPSP or Zoho.
6. Campaign Coordination: Plan and execute successful fundraising campaigns and events.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Adaptability: Excel in a fast-paced environment, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
2. Proposal Writing: Demonstrated success in crafting winning proposals, especially for wildlife and conservation projects.
3. Fundraising Experience: 2-3 years of experience in fundraising with a solid understanding of CSR networks and funding opportunities in India.

Designation: Assistant/Associate Director – Education Programs

SCOPE & ACCOUNTABILITY
This position involves overseeing all education programs at CWS including building partnerships with academic institutions, schools and state and central governments. This includes scaling the Wild Shaale environmental education programs focussed on the rural landscapes in all locations and working closely with the program managers, program coordinators and field staff for statewide implementation. Additionally, working on the online version of the same program with nationwide implementation in government and private schools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
■ Build and manage partnerships with schools, government departments and civil society organizations in various states of India to run Wild Shaale programs successfully and explore integration into state curriculums.
■ Manage overall operations of Wild Shaale program along with program managers and coordinators in multiple states.
■ Build partnerships with other academic institutions to develop certification courses and diplomas in conservation practice.
■ Fundraise for all the education programs in CWS especially from CSR and individual donors.
■ Work with the research and content team to build curriculum and pedagogy for the diploma programs and content as and when necessary.
■ Oversee training of program staff on content delivery online and offline with the program managers.
REQUIRED SKILLS
■ Minimum 10 years of experience in managing and scaling education programs with focus on rural areas.
■ Worked independently with government departments, schools and other CSOs and built long-lasting relationships.
■ Proven experience in managing multiple field teams in rural areas and guiding them for successful implementation of the program.
■ Masters or PhD in Education/Environmental Science/Wildlife will be preferred
■ Excellent spoken and written English communication skills. Additional Indian languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Konkani, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam will be a bonus.
■ Travel within India as and when required, especially remote locations in the field.
■ Fellowship experience with Teach for India, Gandhi Fellowship or similar would be an advantage.
