ABOUT THE ROLE
We seek a conservation scientist with a background in wildlife ecology, environmental science, geography, public policy, GIS, remote sensing, economics or related interdisciplinary elds. The candidate should possess strong quantitative skills, demonstrated ability to lead and build independent research programs and fundraising track record. Candidates will work with multiple teams of researchers and conservationists at CWS.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Ph.D. in conservation science, wildlife ecology, environmental science, ecology, geography, public policy, economics and related interdisciplinary fields.
2. Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing research programs focused on environmental and conservation issues and managing research teams.
3. Completion of a post doctoral fellowship.
4. Proven track record in fundraising.
5. Proven publication record in known peer-reviewed scientific journals.
6. Ability to teach courses in wildlife ecology and conservation.
7. Fluent spoken and written proficiency in English and Indian languages.

SCOPE
The Fundraising Coordinator plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and impact of the Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS). This position involves close collaboration with CWS senior staff to craft compelling grant proposals, establish and nurture CSR partnerships, and identify innovative fundraising opportunities. The role requires ongoing interaction with all teams across CWS, ensuring seamless communication and a unified approach to achieving our mission. The Fundraising Coordinator’s efforts are essential in expanding CWS’s reach and strengthening its vital conservation programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Assist the Managers and senior team in funding and funding-related outreach work at CWS.
2) Develop and write proposals for any CWS programs and projects. Coordination of CWS staff involved in planning, writing, and editing proposals with frequent progress review and feedback with CWS senior management.
3) Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on all submissions, grant-funded projects and donors in relevant databases, and filing systems in coordination with the CWS accounts team.
4) Identify new funding opportunities and liaise with potential donors.
5) Find opportunities for Retail Funding along with managing retail/crowdfunding platforms like Give India etc.
6) Maintain donor databases for all fundraising activities, ensuring timely submissions and contractual obligations.
7) Manage and coordinate fundraising campaigns and events with crowdfunding platforms. Submit donor reports that meet requirements and contractual obligations, ensuring that they are of a high standard and submitted on time.
8) Manage Donor management platforms like ERPNext/Salesforce NPSP/Zoho etc
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve the required results in a demanding and fast paced environment, managing time effectively, and adapting priorities to respond to changing demands and tight deadlines.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1) Proven track record of writing successful proposals for research and conservation programs, preferably in the wildlife and environment sector. At least 6 years of experience in fundraising and proven record of fundraising
2) Experience and familiarity with CSR networks and funding opportunities in India.
3) Excellent writing and research skills and computer literacy. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
4) Good spoken and written communication skills (preferably English) as well as interpersonal skills.
5) Strong analytical (data/evidence gathering, analysis and interpretation, hypotheses framing and validation) and research capabilities.
6) Strong hold on office tools like Google Workspace, spreadsheets, microsoft excel along with strong communication, storytelling and presentation capabilities
7) Comfort with technology usage and products.
